Knee Bolster Bracket Replacement (Driver)

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the left instrument panel (IP) insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement (Left) (Instrument Panel (IP) - Insulator Replacement - Left)Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement (Right) (Instrument Panel (IP) - Insulator Replacement - Right).
2. Remove the steering column filler panel. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement.
3. Remove the bracket bolts from the IP driver knee bolster (not shown).
4. Remove the bracket bolts from the IP knee bolster at the instrument carrier.
Remove the IP knee bolster bracket.

Installation Procedure




1. Align the knee bolster bracket to the instrument panel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the knee bolster bracket bolts to the instrument carrier in the sequence shown.

Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

3. Install the bracket bolts to the IP driver knee bolster (not shown).

Tighten the bracket bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

4. Install the steering column filler panel. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement.
5. Install the left IP insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement (Left) (Instrument Panel (IP) - Insulator Replacement - Left)Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement (Right) (Instrument Panel (IP) - Insulator Replacement - Right).
