Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment





When the following conditions exist, inspect the rear compartment lid to the quarter panel gap for the proper alignment:

* The rear compartment lid is closed.
* The rear compartment lid lock is engaged.


Adjust the lid from the original position. Perform the adjustments using the elongated holes in the rear compartment lid hinge.


Prior to performing any rear compartment lid lock or striker adjustments, properly align the rear compartment lid to the rear compartment opening using the hinge adjustment.

Perform the following steps in order to adjust the rear compartment lid:





1. Open the rear compartment lid.
2. Loosen the 4 rear compartment lid (1) mounting bolts.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Adjust the rear compartment lid to quarter panel clearance gap to between 2.5-5.5 mm (0.10-0.22 in) on each side of the rear compartment lid.

Tighten the rear compartment lid bolts to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

4. Lower the rear compartment lid.
