Headlining Trim Panel Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the quarter upper trim panels (2), by disengaging the 6 plastic retainers (1).
2. Remove the center pillar upper trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement) .




3. Lower the door opening frame garnish moldings (1,2) on the front and rear door pinch weld flanges.
4. Remove the front assist handle. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement (Assist Handle Replacement) .
5. Remove the rear assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement (Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement) .




6. Gently pry and remove the windshield side garnish moldings (1).
7. Remove the sunshades and retainers. Refer to Sunshade Replacement (Sunshade Replacement) .
8. Remove the courtesy and reading lamp/sunroof switch assembly.
9. Remove the dome lamp. Refer to Dome Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.




10. Remove the inside rearview mirror trim cover.
11. Remove the following components from the vehicle:

* The 2 screws
* The inside rearview mirror (1)





12. Lower the front seat back cushions in order to gain clearance to remove the headlining trim finish panel.
13. Remove the 3 plastic retainers (5) which secure the rear of the headlining trim finish panel.
14. Lower the headlining trim finish panel (1). Remove the headlining through a rear door.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the headlining trim finish panel through a rear door.
2. Install the headlining panel (1) to the roof panel. Secure the headlining panel with the rear 3 plastic retainers (5).




3. Install the inside rearview mirror (1). Secure the mirror with the 2 screws.
4. Install the inside rearview mirror trim cover.




5. Install the dome lamp. Refer to Dome Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
6. Install the courtesy and reading lamp/sunroof switch assembly.
7. Install the sunshades and retainers. Refer to Sunshade Replacement (Sunshade Replacement) .
8. Install the windshield side garnish moldings (1) to the vehicle. Ensure that the plastic retainers are fully engaged.




9. Install the front assist handle. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement (Assist Handle Replacement) .
10. Install the rear assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement (Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement) .
11. Install the center pillar upper trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement) .
12. Reposition the door opening frame garnish moldings (1,2) on all doors to the correct position on the pinch well flange.




13. Install the quarter upper trim panels (2). Ensure that the plastic retainers are fully engaged.
14. Position the front seat back cushions back to the upright position.
