Front Floor Console Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
2. Disconnect the rear park brake rear cables from the park brake equalizer. Refer to Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement (9C3) Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement (9C3)Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement (9C1) Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement (9C1).
3. Remove the two nuts (1) securing the park brake cable to the vehicle.
4. Remove the bolt (2) securing the park brake cable to the vehicle.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Remove the right and left front floor console side covers. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Cover Replacement - Right Side (9C3) Front Floor Console Side Cover Replacement - Right Side (9C3)Front Floor Console Side Cover Replacement - Right Side (9C1) Front Floor Console Side Cover Replacement - Right Side (9C1) and Front Floor Console Side Cover Replacement - Left Side (9C1) Front Floor Console Side Cover Replacement - Left Side (9C1)Front Floor Console Side Cover Replacement - Left Side (9C3) Front Floor Console Side Cover Replacement - Left Side (9C3).
7. Remove the instrument panel center trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement (9C3) Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement (9C3)Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement (9C1) Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement (9C1).
8. Loosen the four park brake assembly bracket bolts (1), two per side.
9. Remove the four console to console bracket bolts (2), two per side.
10. With the aid of an assistant lift the console assembly rearward and upward.
11. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
12. Feed the park brake cable up through the opening in the floor.
13. Remove the console assembly from the vehicle.
14. If replacing the front floor console assembly, transfer all necessary components.
Installation Procedure
1. With the aid of an assistant position the console assembly into the vehicle.
2. Feed the park brake cable down through the opening in the floor.
3. Connect the electrical connectors.
4. Ensure the console is properly seated into the console brackets.
Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
5. Install the 4 bolts (2) securing the console assembly to the console brackets and tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb in).
6. Tighten the park brake assembly bracket bolts (1) to 21 Nm (15 lb ft).
7. Install the instrument panel center trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement (9C3) Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement (9C3)Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement (9C1) Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement (9C1).
8. Install the right and left front floor console side covers. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Cover Replacement - Right Side (9C3) Front Floor Console Side Cover Replacement - Right Side (9C3)Front Floor Console Side Cover Replacement - Right Side (9C1) Front Floor Console Side Cover Replacement - Right Side (9C1) and Front Floor Console Side Cover Replacement - Left Side (9C1) Front Floor Console Side Cover Replacement - Left Side (9C1)Front Floor Console Side Cover Replacement - Left Side (9C3) Front Floor Console Side Cover Replacement - Left Side (9C3).
9. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
10. Install the bolt (2) securing the park brake cable to the vehicle and tighten to 21 Nm (15 lb ft).
11. Install the nuts (1) securing the park brake cable to the vehicle and tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb in)
12. Connect the rear park brake rear cables to the park brake equalizer. Refer to Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement (9C3) Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement (9C3)Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement (9C1) Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement (9C1)
