Outside Rearview Mirror Glass Replacement
Removal Procedure
Warning
When working with any type of glass, use approved safety glasses and gloves to reduce the chance of personal injury.
1. Push the mirror glass inward at the bottom outer corner (1) until full travel is reached.
2. Apply several layers of masking tape (2) to the top inner corner of the outside rearview mirror housing in order to protect from scratches.
3. Insert a suitable tool (2) into the removal window (1) located behind the mirror glass.
4. Twist the tool to release the mirror glass from the actuator assembly.
5. If fitted, disconnect the wiring harness connectors (1) of the mirror glass heater.
Installation Procedure
1. Insert the damper spring (1) into the retention slot (2).
2. If fitted, connect the wiring harness connectors (1) of the mirror glass heater.
Note:
The mirror glass actuator assembly (2) can be adjusted by pushing on the motor. A ratcheting noise will be heard when the motor is pushed.
3. Adjust the mirror glass actuator assembly (2) to the neutral position.
4. Align the damper spring (1) to the running track (3).
5. Using the flat part of your hand, press inward until the mirror glass fully clips into position.
6. Inspect the mirror for correct operation.
7. Remove the masking tape.
