Dome Lamp Replacement
Removal Procedure
Warning:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning Battery Disconnect Warning.
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary).
Note:
The headliner can be easily damaged or discolored. Use care when working in the area of the headliner.
2. Open the sun glasses storage compartment (1) to reveal the retaining screw (2).
3. Remove the dome lamp assembly to roof retaining screw (2).
Note:
Grasp the dome lamp assembly (3) and pull downwards to remove the dome lamp assembly (3) from the headliner assembly (4).
4. Remove the dome lamp assembly (3) from the headliner assembly (4).
5. Disconnect the overhead console courtesy lamp assembly electrical connector (2).
6. Disconnect the OnStar(R) microphone electrical connector (1).
7. Remove the dome lamp assembly (3) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the dome lamp assembly (3) to the vehicle.
2. Connect the OnStar(R) microphone connector (1).
3. Connect the overhead console courtesy lamp assembly electrical connector (2).
4. Insert the two locating arms (1) into the headlining assembly (4).
5. Push the dome lamp assembly (5) up into the headlining assembly (4).
Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
6. Install the dome lamp assembly to roof retaining screw (3) and tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb in).
7. Close the sun glasses storage compartment (2).
8. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary).
