Shift Linkage: Adjustments
Range Selector Lever Link Adjustment
1. Ensure that the shift lever is in the park (P) position.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
3. Loosen the selector rod on selector retaining bolt.
4. Ensure that the transmission manual shaft lever is in the park (P) position.
Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
5. Hold the selector lever on transmission against the rear stop to eliminate any play.
1. Tighten the selector lever to the transmission manual shift shaft adjustment nut to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
2. Tighten the selector lever to the transmission control assembly adjustment bolt to 30 Nm (22 lb ft).
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Inspect the operation of the starting system with the shift lever in each position. The engine should only crank when the lever is in the PARK or NEUTRAL position.
