CHART TEST DESCRIPTION
Numbers below refer to circled numbers on diagnostic chart:
1. This is the set-up step for performing the injector coil test. Also read instructions included with tools used for test.
2. Engine coolant temperature affects the tool's ability to detect a faulty injector. If engine coolant temperature is NOT between 10° C and 35° C (50° F and 95° F), allow vehicle to warm or cool off first.
3. Due to a current surge, the first instant of the voltage reading may be inaccurate, therefore, begin recording after that instant of the voltage reading. The voltage specification should be within range (refer to example). The voltage reading may increase throughout the test as the injector windings warm and the resistance changes. An erratic voltage reading (one that jumps up and down) indicates an intermittent connection within the fuel injector.
