Receiver Dehydrator Replacement (LG5)
Tools Required
J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the right wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement Service and Repair in Body Front End.
2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
3. Loosen the condenser tube nut.
4. Disconnect the condenser tube from the receiver and the dehydrator.
5. Loosen the evaporator tube nut.
6. Disconnect the evaporator from the receiver dehydrator.
7. Remove and discard the O-ring seals.
8. Remove the bolt and the washer from the bracket.
9. Remove the nuts and the washers.
10. Remove the bolts and the washers.
11. Remove the receiver dehydrator from the bracket.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the receiver dehydrator to the bracket.
2. Install the bolts and the washers.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
3. Install the washers and the nuts.
Tighten the bolts to 11 Nm (97 lb in).
4. Install the washer and the bolt to the evaporator hose bracket.
Tighten the bolt to 11 Nm (97 lb in).
Important: Coat the O-ring seal with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
5. Install the NEW O-ring seal.
6. Connect the evaporator tube to the receiver dehydrator.
7. Install the evaporator tube nut.
Tighten the nut to 24 Nm (18 lb ft).
Important: Coat the O-ring seal with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
8. Install the NEW O-ring seal.
9. Connect the condenser tube to the receiver dehydrator.
10. Install the condenser tube nut.
Tighten the nut to 18 Nm (13 lb ft).
11. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
12. Leak test the fitting(s) of the component using the J 39400-A .
13. Install the right wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement Service and Repair in Body Front End.
