Receiver Dehydrator Replacement (LP4/L21)
Removal Procedure
1. Discharge and recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet front duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Front Duct Replacement Air Cleaner Outlet Front Duct Replacement in Engine Controls.
3. Remove the condenser hose fitting from the receiver dehydrator (1).
4. Remove the O-ring seal.
Discard the O-ring seal.
5. Remove the bolts from the evaporator hose retainer.
6. Remove the evaporator hose from the receiver dehydrator.
7. Remove the O-ring seal.
Discard the O-ring seal.
8. Remove the bolts, washers, and the nuts from the bracket.
9. Remove the receiver dehydrator from the bracket.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the receiver dehydrator (1) to the bracket.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
2. Install the bolts, washers, and the nuts.
Tighten the receiver dehydrator bracket bolts to 11 Nm (97 lb in).
3. Install the washer and the bolt to the evaporator hose bracket.
Tighten the evaporator hose bracket bolt to 11 Nm (97 lb in).
4. Install the NEW O-ring seal.
Coat the O-ring seal with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
5. Install the evaporator hose to the receiver dehydrator.
Tighten the evaporator hose to 24 Nm (18 lb ft).
6. Install the NEW O-ring seal.
7. Coat the O-ring seal with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
8. Install the condenser hose to the receiver dehydrator.
Tighten the condenser hose fitting to 18 Nm (13 lb ft).
9. Add the refrigerant to the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
10. Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing Leak Testing.
11. Install the air cleaner outlet front duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Front Duct Replacement Air Cleaner Outlet Front Duct Replacement in Engine Controls.
