Instrument Cluster Replacement
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
Important: Before sending out the instrument panel for repair, replacement, or exchange, note the number and type of the bulb and socket assemblies. Due to the variety of optional equipment available, replacement clusters do not always have the correct number or type of indicator lamps. Comparing bulb locations beforehand will ensure that all indicator lamps remain functional.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the screws (1) from the instrument cluster bezel (2).
3. Remove all harness connectors from the accessory switches, such as the marker lamps, the illuminated mirror, etc.
4. Remove the instrument cluster bezel by rotating the instrument cluster bezel up and to the left to allow access to the instrument cluster retaining screws.
5. Remove the instrument cluster screws (2). Pull the IP cluster away from the dashboard.
6. Remove the shift indicator cable, if equipped.
7. Disconnect the front and rear brake air pressure gauge lines.
8. Remove the instrument cluster (1).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the instrument cluster (1) to the vehicle.
2. Connect the front and rear brake air pressure gage lines.
3. Install the shift indicator cable to the lower shift bowl.
4. Install the instrument cluster retaining screws (2).
5. Adjust the shift indicator cable.
6. Position the cluster bezel retainer with the radio and the heater controls on the instrument panel and install the cluster bezel retaining screws.
7. Install the harness connectors for the accessory switches, if equipped.
8. Install the cluster bezel (2) and the cluster bezel retaining screws (1).
9. Connect the negative battery cable.
