Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Replacement
Removal Procedure
Notice: Refer to PCM and ESD Notice in Cautions and Notices.
Important: Do not substitute a powertrain control module (PCM) from another vehicle for diagnosis.
Important: The ignition should always be OFF when installing or removing the PCM connectors.
1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the PCM housing cover (5).
3. Remove the PCM harness connectors (4).
4. Remove the PCM bracket retaining bolt.
5. Remove the PCM (3) from the bracket (2).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the PCM (3) to the bracket (2).
2. Install the PCM bracket retaining bolt.
3. Install the PCM harness connectors (4).
4. Install the PCM housing cover (5).
5. Program the electrically erasable programmable read only memory (EEPROM) if a new PCM is being installed.
