Rear Compartment Endgate Access Panel Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the rear compartment lid.
2. Lower the endgate.
3. Remove the rear compartment endgate liner. Refer to Rear Compartment Endgate Liner Replacement (Rear Compartment Endgate Liner Replacement) .




4. Remove the rear compartment endgate access panel fasteners.
5. Lift rear compartment endgate access panel upward to expose the linkage retainers.
6. Disengage the rear compartment endgate linkages from the access panel.
7. Remove the rear compartment endgate access panel from the vehicle.



Disassembly Procedure

1. Lay the rear compartment access panel face down to expose the bell crank.
2. Remove the center pivot fastener.
3. Remove the bell crank from the rear compartment access panel.
4. Remove the endgate release handle fasteners.
5. Remove the endgate release handle from the rear compartment access panel.



Assembly Procedure

1. Install the endgate release handle to the rear compartment access panel.
2. Install the endgate release handle fasteners.
3. Install the bell crank to the rear compartment access panel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the center pivot fastener.

Tighten the fastener to 2 N.m (17 lb in).




Installation Procedure

1. Install the rear compartment access panel to the vehicle.
2. Connect the rear compartment endgate linkages to the rear compartment access panel.




3. Install the rear compartment endgate access cover fasteners.
4. Install the rear compartment endgate liner. Refer to Rear Compartment Endgate Liner Replacement (Rear Compartment Endgate Liner Replacement) .
5. Close the endgate.
6. Close the rear compartment lid.
