Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution (Brake Fluid Irritant Caution) .
Notice: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice (Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice) .
Important: To reduce the possibility of contaminating the brake system or the ABS module, ensure that the work area is clean. DO NOT wear gloves or use shop towels when working with the ABS module.
1. Clean the master cylinder and electronic brake control module (EBCM) assembly with denatured alcohol.
2. Remove the EBCM assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement (Service and Repair) .
3. Loosen the mounting bolts for the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV).
4. Remove the BPMV from the mounting bracket.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the BPMV to the mounting bracket.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .
2. Tighten the mounting nuts.
Tighten the mounting nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
3. Install the EBCM assembly. Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Bleed the system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) (Service and Repair)Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) (Service and Repair) .
