Variable Induction Control Valve: Service and Repair



Intake Manifold Tuning Valve Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector (1) from the intake manifold tuning valve.
3. Remove the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (Service and Repair).




4. Remove the intake manifold tuning valve bolts.
5. Remove the intake manifold tuning valve.

Installation Procedure




1. Apply lubricate GM P/N 1051344 (Canadian P/N 993037) to the nose of the valve blade (1).




2. Install the intake manifold tuning valve.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).

3. Install the intake manifold tuning valve bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

4. Install the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (Service and Repair).




5. Connect the engine harness electrical connector (1) to the intake manifold tuning valve.
6. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
