Heated/Cooled Cupholder Switch - Operation

OPERATION

With the ignition turned to RUN, the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) supplies battery voltage through a fuse to the heated/cooled cupholder circuit board. The heated/cooled cupholder switches receive five volt Direct Current (DC) signals from the heated/cooled cupholder circuit board. When one of the switches is pressed, the direction of current flow through that switch is momentarily reversed. The change in direction of current flow through the switch signals the circuit board to supply current to the Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) ceramic element Heated/Cooled Cupholder - Operation. Once working, the heated/cooled cupholder can be turned off by pressing the same switch again, or can function the opposite way by pressing the other switch.
