Center Mounted Brake Lamp - Removal

REMOVAL





1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. From the inside of the deck lid (5), disconnect the body wire harness connector (3) from the connector receptacle integral to the back of the Center High Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) housing (2).
3. If the vehicle is so equipped, disconnect the body wire harness connector from the Passive Entry (PE) deck lid release switch pigtail wire connector on the back of the CHMSL housing.
4. Remove the two nuts (4) that secure the CHMSL to the two screw and retainer units (1) installed in the inner deck lid reinforcement.
5. Remove the CHMSL from the inside of the deck lid.
