Pinpoint Test D: The One-Touch Down Feature is Inoperative

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100, Power Windows for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number

Normal Operation

The one-touch down relay receives voltage through circuit 15-AJ15 (GN/BK) and ground through circuit 31-DA11 (BK). When the LH window control switch is moved to the DOWN position, voltage is supplied to the one-touch down relay coil on circuit 33-AJ16 (YE/BK). The one-touch down relay is switched from ground contact to voltage contact providing voltage to the LH window motor on circuit 32-AJ16 (WH/BK).

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- One-touch down relay

PINPOINT TEST D: THE ONE-TOUCH DOWN FEATURE IS INOPERATIVE

NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) from the Flex Probe Kit when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.

-------------------------------------------------
D1 CHECK CIRCUIT 15-AJ15 (GN/BK) FOR AN OPEN

- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: One-Touch Down Relay C546.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage between one-touch down relay C546-2, circuit 15-AJ15 (GN/BK), harness side and ground.

- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?

Yes
GO to D2.

No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

-------------------------------------------------
D2 CHECK CIRCUIT 31-AJ15 (BK) FOR AN OPEN

- Measure the resistance between one-touch down relay C546-1, circuit 31-AJ15 (BK), harness side and ground.

- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
INSTALL a new one-touch down relay. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
