Normal Operations and Fault Conditions

When the ignition is turned to the RUN or START position, the BCM (Body Control Module) activates the transceiver to read the key in the ignition. If the BCM (Body Control Module) does not receive a PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) key code or if the code is invalid, PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) is disabled and the engine does not start.

Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks

- Inspect the PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) key for damage.

- Verify the correct key is being used.
