Accessories and Optional Equipment: Description and Operation




Information and Entertainment System

Functional Components

The functional components of the audio system (and their locations) are as follows:

- Audio Control Module (ACM)
- Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM)
- Front Display Interface Module (FDIM)
- Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM), located under the floor console (if equipped)
- Rear Entertainment Module (RETM), located behind the RH side of the instrument panel (if equipped)
- Audio Digital Signal Processing (DSP) module, located behind the RH quarter trim panel (if equipped)
- Global Positioning System Module (GPSM), located behind the ACM (if equipped)
- Speakers (see Audio Line-Up for locations)
- DVD player, one located in each front seat headrest (if equipped)
- AM/FM antenna, located at the top-rear of the roof
- Combination AM/FM/satellite radio antenna, located at the top-rear of the roof (if equipped)
- Quad-band AM/FM/ GPS/satellite radio antenna, located at the top-rear of the roof (if equipped)
- AM/FM antenna cables
- Satellite radio cables
- Video cable (if equipped)
- Universal Serial Bus (USB) port and cable (if equipped)
- Audio input jack (if equipped)
- Clockspring
- Microphone

Audio Line-Up

The vehicle is equipped with one of the following audio systems:

- Base
- AM/FM single CD ACM (standard)
- AM/FM 6-CD ACM (optional)
- Two front door speakers, 2 rear door speakers, 2 A-pillar speakers

- Sony(R) Sound
- AM/FM 6-CD ACM (standard)
- Optional navigation ACM with built-in single CD/DVD drive and HD Radio(R)
- Two front door speakers, 2 rear door speakers, one instrument panel speaker, 2 A-pillar speakers, 2 D-pillar speakers, subwoofer (located behind the RH quarter-trim panel)
- Audio DSP module

All audio systems include the following features:

- Speed sensitive volume
- Accessory delay
- MP3 capability
- Audio input jack

The following options are also available:

- Steering wheel controls
- Satellite audio
- SYNC system
- Family entertainment system

Satellite Radio

The satellite audio system is comprised of the following:

- Satellite radio receiver built-in to the ACM
- Satellite radio antenna
- Satellite radio antenna cables

Navigation System

The navigation system consists of the following:

- Navigation ACM
- GPS antenna
- Microphone

The ACM controls the operation of the navigation system and the audio system. The system uses a GPS antenna, a vehicle speed input, and other sensor information to accurately establish the vehicle position.

Family Entertainment System

The family entertainment system consists of the following:

- RETM
- Two DVD players
- A/V ports for connecting an auxiliary input (gaming system)
- Two wireless headphones
- Wireless remote control

SYNC System

The SYNC system consists of the following:

- APIM
- SYNC-specific steering wheel controls
- Microphone
- USB cable and port
- Audio input jack

SYNC is a hands-free communications and entertainment system that allows the following interactions:

- Send and receive phone calls via a Bluetooth-enabled phone
- Send and receive text messages via a Bluetooth-enabled phone
- Connect media devices (such as an iPod(R) or USB flash device) in order to play audio files
- Play media files via a Bluetooth-enabled audio device
- Produce vehicle health reports
- Initiate an emergency call (eCall) when the air bags deploy

Not all features are available with every phone.

MyKey(R)

When a MyKey(R) restricted key is in use and the speed limiter is turned on, the speed compensated volume is disabled. When the speed limiter is turned off or an administrator key is used, the speed compensated volume is enabled.
