- Fuel filler door
- Fuel tank filler pipe housing
- Sliding door travel limiting latch cable assembly
- Sliding door travel limiting latch
Power Lock/Unlock
The power lock/unlock feature is controlled by the Generic Electronic Module (GEM) and requests all of the vehicle doors locked or the front and sliding doors unlocked upon a customer request from either front door lock control lever in the vehicle. The power door locking system functions independently of ignition status or vehicle speed.
Autolock
The autolock feature is controlled by the GEM and locks all of the doors when all the doors are closed, the key in the RUN position, and the vehicle speed then exceeds 7 km/h (5 mph).
This feature relocks the doors (if any doors were open), once all the doors are read as closed and vehicle speed exceeds 7 km/h (5 mph).
The autolock feature can be enabled/disabled. Refer to Autolock and Auto-Unlock Programming Autolock and Auto-Unlock Programming for programming information.
Central Locking/Unlocking
This central locking/unlocking feature is controlled by the GEM and allows all the doors to be locked or unlocked (the unlocking function depends upon the cargo protect and stepped unlock programming) from a key in any of the front door lock cylinders (all the doors only lock from the rear cargo door lock cylinder). To unlock both the front and sliding doors (cargo protect and stepped unlock disabled), insert a key into either front door lock cylinder and turn it toward the unlock position (the rear cargo door only unlocks if stepped unlock is disabled). To lock all of the doors including the rear cargo door, insert a key into any one of the door lock cylinders and turn to the lock position.
Cargo Protect Unlocking
NOTE: If the stepped unlock programming is disabled, it overrides the cargo protect unlocking.
The cargo protect unlocking feature is controlled by the GEM and allows only the front doors to be unlocked from a key in either front door lock cylinder or Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) unlock command. The vehicle comes from the factory with this feature disabled, so both front and sliding doors unlock from a door lock cylinder or RKE unlock command. This feature is a programmable parameter and can only be enabled/disabled with the scan tool. For information on programmable parameters, refer to Module Configuration Programming and Relearning.
Stepped Unlock Programming
The stepped unlock feature is controlled by the GEM and allows a stepped unlock process when enabled, or a single stage unlock process when disabled. If the stepped unlock is enabled, both front and sliding doors unlock on the unlock command (the sliding doors will not unlock if cargo protect unlocking is enabled). On the second unlock command, all of the doors unlock. If the stepped unlock feature is disabled, all of the doors unlock on the first unlock command (the sliding doors also unlock even if cargo protect unlocking is enabled). Refer to Stepped Unlock Programming Stepped Unlock Programming for programming information.
Smart Unlock
The smart unlock feature prevents the doors from locking when any front or rear cargo door is ajar. When the GEM receives a lock command from a door lock control lever, door lock cylinder, or a Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter, and any front or rear cargo door is ajar, the GEM commands the doors to lock then unlock.
Sliding Door Memory Lock
The sliding door memory lock feature is controlled by the GEM and relocks all doors once the sliding door is closed if they were locked electronically while the sliding door was ajar.
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
The GEM accepts programming of up to 4 RKE transmitters. The RKE transmitters are built into the keyhead, but are programmed separately from the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS). To fully program an RKE key, first follow the PATS key programming in Anti-Theft - Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Programming and Relearning and then the RKE transmitters can be programmed using the RKE transmitter programming procedure. Refer to Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter Programming Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter Programming for programming information.
In addition to the RKE key, standard keyfobs can also be programmed to the vehicle.
The RKE transmitter carries out the following functions:
- Unlocks the front and sliding doors
- Unlocks the rear cargo doors
- Locks all doors
- Commands the interior lamps on (when unlocking) and off (when locking)
- Flashes the turn signals twice when LOCK is pressed and the doors are closed
- Provides a long flash of the turn signals when UNLOCK is pressed
The RKE transmitter has a normal operating range of 10 m (33 ft).
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Lock/Unlock Control - Unlock
The RKE feature provides a 2-step (or stepped) process for unlocking the doors. This feature only operates when the key is removed or in the LOCK or ACC position. Upon receipt of the first request for unlocking the doors, the RKE feature requests the GEM to unlock the front and sliding doors. If another unlock request is received within 3 seconds of the first, the RKE feature requests the rear cargo doors be unlocked. The stepped unlock can be disabled, and causes all doors to unlock on the first press of the unlock button. Refer to Stepped Unlock Programming Stepped Unlock Programming for programming information.
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Lock/Unlock Control - Lock
The RKE feature requests that all the doors be locked when the LOCK button is pressed. This feature only operates when the key is removed or in the LOCK or ACC position. On any press of the LOCK button with all doors closed, the GEM flashes the turn signals twice. If any door is ajar, no flash occurs. If the front or rear cargo doors are ajar during an RKE lock request, the GEM activates the smart unlock feature. If a sliding door is ajar during an RKE lock request, the GEM activates the sliding door memory lock feature and flashes the turn signals twice once the sliding door is closed.
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) - Cargo Door Unlock
The RKE feature provides a rear cargo door unlock function independently of any key position. The cargo door unlock function is disabled when the vehicle speed exceeds 7 km/h (5 mph). On the first press of the rear cargo door unlock button, the rear cargo doors unlock. On the second press, all doors unlock.
