Front Seat




Seat - Front

NOTE: LH shown, RH similar.











Removal

WARNING: Never probe the electrical connectors on air bag, Safety Canopy(R) or side air curtain modules. Failure to follow this instruction may result in the accidental deployment of these modules, which increases the risk of serious personal injury or death.

NOTE: The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the correct Restraints Control Module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition is ON.

NOTE: The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.

1. Depower the SRS. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering in the General Procedures portion of Supplemental Restraint System Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering.

2. Remove the nut cover and rear nut.

3. Remove the 3 seat mounting bolts.

4. Loosen the bolt and disconnect the electrical bulkhead connector. Remove the seat.

Installation

NOTICE: Make sure the carpet strap is not under foot of the seat. Failure to follow this instruction can result in component damage and system failure.

1. Position the seat in the vehicle, connect the electrical bulkhead connector and tighten the bolt.

2. For passenger seat, check that the BTS wiring harness and carpet strap are not stuck under the seat track rails.





3. Install and hand-tighten all fasteners.
- Make sure both track rails are aligned evenly and locked in position before tightening the seat mounting fasteners.

4. Tighten the seat mounting fasteners in the following sequence:

1. Tighten the outboard front bolt to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).

2. Tighten the inboard front bolt to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).

3. Tighten the rear bolt to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).

4. Tighten the rear nut to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).

5. Install the rear nut cover.
