Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Parameter Reset
Without Intelligent Access (IA)
1. Turn the key from the OFF position to the RUN position.
2. From the scan tool, enter TOOLBOX. Select Body>Security>PATS Functions and follow the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) on-screen instructions to enter PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) security access.
3. NOTE: If the Body Control Module (BCM) was replaced at least 2 keys must be programmed to the BCM (Body Control Module). After completing this step, leave the scan tool connected and follow the Erase All Keys and Program Two Keys procedure.
From the scan tool, select "Parameter Reset" and follow the IDS (Integrated Diagnostic System) on-screen instructions.
With Intelligent Access (IA)
NOTE: To enter PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) security access if the Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module or BCM (Body Control Module) is replaced, start a vehicle session using a tear tag or PCM part number. Refer to Inspection and Verification in Information Bus to start a session Inspection and Verification. PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) security access can still be granted even with the ignition off.
NOTE: There are 2 parameter reset procedures in the scan tool. Select the appropriate procedure depending upon which module was replaced.
1. From the scan tool, enter TOOLBOX. Select Body>Security>PATS Functions and follow the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) on-screen instructions to enter PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) security access.
2. Select the appropriate parameter reset from the table.
