Pinpoint Test A: The Entire Audio System is Inoperative

Normal Operation

With the key in RUN or ACC, the audio system can be powered on. When the ON button is pressed on the Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM), a wake-up signal is sent to the Audio Control Module (ACM), the Front Display Interface Module (FDIM), and the Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) (if equipped).

When a button is pressed on the FCIM, there is a corresponding display on the FDIM. The FDIM displays both base audio system information, SYNC information (if equipped), and satellite radio information. The information is sent to the FDIM via the Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN).

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Communication network concern
- FCIM
- ACM
