Pinpoint Test H: The Delayed Accessory is Inoperative
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100, Power Windows for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number
Normal Operation
The accessory delay relay receives voltage at all times from the Smart Junction Box (SJB). The SJB controls the coil side ground of the accessory delay relay and activates the accessory delay relay when the ignition switch is in the ON position. The accessory delay relay remains active for an additional 10 minutes when the ignition switch is in the OFF position or until a driver or passenger front door is opened. The accessory delay relay provides voltage to the door lock switches, power windows and roof opening panel (if equipped).
- DTC B1302 (Accessory Delay Relay Coil Circuit Failure) - Sets when an open or short to ground is detected in the relay control circuit.
- DTC B1304 (Accessory Delay Relay Coil Circuit Short to Battery) - Sets when a short to voltage is detected in the relay control circuit.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Fuse(s)
- Accessory delay relay
- SJB
PINPOINT TEST H: THE DELAYED ACCESSORY IS INOPERATIVE
NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) from the Flex Probe Kit when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
-------------------------------------------------
H1 CHECK FOR CORRECT OPERATION OF THE DOOR AJAR SWITCHES
- Open and close the driver door while observing the interior lamp operation.
- Open and close the passenger front door while observing the interior lamp operation.
- Do the interior lamps operate correctly?
Yes
GO to H2.
No
REFER to Interior Lighting Testing and Inspection to continue diagnosis of the interior lamps.
-------------------------------------------------
H2 CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Accessory Delay Relay.
- Carry out the accessory delay relay component test.
- Did the relay pass the component test?
Yes
GO to H3.
No
INSTALL a new accessory delay relay. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
-------------------------------------------------
H3 CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY FOR VOLTAGE
- Disconnect: SJB C2280D.
- Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C504A.
- Measure the resistance between LH front window control switch C504A-7 (coupe) or C504A-2 (sedan), circuit SBP47 (WH/RD), harness side and SJB C2280D-32, circuit SBP47 (WH/RD), harness side.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
GO to H4.
No
INSPECT SJB circuit breaker 47 (30A). If OK, REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR all DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
-------------------------------------------------
H4 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION
- Disconnect all the SJB connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion.
- pushed-out pins.
- Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
Yes
INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to Multifunction Electronic Modules Service and Repair. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR all DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
