Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Jacking and Lifting Service and Repair.
2. Disconnect the selector lever cable from the selector lever.
3. Remove the selector lever cable from the selector lever cable bracket and discard the selector lever cable retaining clip.
4. NOTICE: When prying on a component, a non-marring tool must be used or damage to the component may occur.
Remove the selector lever bezel.
- With a non-marring tool, lift the selector lever bezel upward.
5. Open the storage compartment door.
6. Remove the floor console finish panel.
- Lift the floor console finish panel upward to release the retaining clips.
- Disconnect the traction/hazard/trunk switch electrical connector.
- Disconnect the 2 ambient light electrical connectors, if equipped.
7. Remove the carpet retainer from the selector lever stud and position the carpet aside.
8. Detach the wiring harness retainer from the selector lever stud.
9. Disconnect the selector lever electrical connector.
10. Remove the 2 selector lever assembly nuts, the 2 selector lever assembly bolts and carefully lift the selector lever assembly from the vehicle.
Installation
1. Position the selector lever assembly in the vehicle and install the 2 selector lever assembly nuts and the 2 selector lever assembly bolts.
- Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
2. Connect the selector lever electrical connector.
3. Attach the wiring harness retainer to the selector lever stud.
4. Position the carpet and install the carpet retainer to the selector lever stud.
5. Install the floor console finish panel.
- Connect the 2 ambient light electrical connectors, if equipped.
- Connect the traction/hazard/trunk switch electrical connector.
6. Close the storage compartment door.
7. Install the selector lever bezel.
8. NOTE: It is necessary to install a new plastic selector lever cable retaining clip prior to installation.
Install the selector lever cable into the selector lever cable bracket.
9. Connect the selector lever cable to the selector lever.
