Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks
- Inspect the bulbs and make sure they are OK.
- Inspect the BCM (Body Control Module) fuse 60 (10A).
- Inspect the interior lamp for damage.
Pinpoint Test

3. CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE FRONT/DRIVER COURTESY LAMP
1. Close the door.
2. Ignition OFF.
3. Disconnect: Driver Interior Lamp C908 (vehicles with a roof opening panel).
4. Disconnect: Front Interior Lamp C931 (vehicles without a roof opening panel).
5. Ignition ON.
6. For a front interior lamp, measure:
7. For a driver interior lamp, measure:
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
4. BYPASS THE BCM (Body Control Module) (INTERIOR LIGHT RELAY)
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Connect: Driver Interior Lamp C908 (vehicles with a roof opening panel).
3. Connect: Front Interior Lamp C931 (vehicles without a roof opening panel).
4. Disconnect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280F.
5. Connect:
6. Ignition ON.
7. Open any door.
Do the courtesy lamps illuminate?
5. CHECK THE FRONT/DRIVER COURTESY LAMP GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
1. For a front interior lamp, measure:
2. For a driver interior lamp, measure:
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
6. BYPASS THE BCM (Body Control Module) GROUND CONTROL
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Connect: Front Interior Lamp C931 (vehicles without a roof opening panel).
3. Connect: Driver Interior Lamp C908 (vehicles with a roof opening panel).
4. Disconnect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280H.
5. Connect:
6. Ignition ON.
7. Open any door.
Do the courtesy lamps illuminate?

2. Disconnect: Driver Interior Lamp C908 (vehicles with a roof opening panel).
3. For a front interior lamp, measure:
4. For a driver interior lamp, measure:
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
8. CHECK THE FOOTWELL LAMP GROUND CONTROLLED CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280C.
3. Connect:
4. Ignition ON.
Do the footwell lamps illuminate?
9. CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE INOPERATIVE INTERIOR COURTESY LAMP
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect: Inoperative Interior Lamp.
3. Ignition ON.
4. For an incandescent footwell lamp, measure:
5. For a LED (Light-emitting Diode) footwell lamp, measure:
6. For a passenger or rear courtesy lamp, measure:
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
10. CHECK THE COURTESY LAMP GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

2. For a LED (Light-emitting Diode) footwell lamp, measure:
3. For a passenger or rear courtesy lamp, measure:
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
11. CHECK THE PASSENGER/REAR LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR REFERENCE VOLTAGE
1. Open any door.
2. For a rear interior lamp on vehicles not equipped with a roof opening panel, measure:
3. For a passenger interior lamp, measure:
4. For a rear interior lamp on vehicles equipped with a roof opening panel, measure:
Is the voltage between 4 and 6 volts?
12. CHECK THE REAR LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect: Front Interior Lamp C931.
3. Ignition ON.
4. Measure:
