Chart C Warning Lamp Comes "ON" Steady
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
When the ignition switch is first turned to "ACC" or "ON," system voltage is applied from the ECU-B fuse to the "AIR BAG" indicator (located in the instrument cluster). The "AIR BAG" indicator is connected to the "Diagnosis and Memory Circuits," terminal "B12", of the center sensor assembly. The CIG & RADIO fuse and the IGN fuse apply system voltage to the center sensor assembly at the "DC-DC Converter" input, terminals "B13" and "B14". The center sensor assembly responds by illuminating the "AIR BAG" indicator for approximately six seconds.
TEST DESCRIPTION:
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. This test checks to see if the "Diagnosis and Memory Circuits" are functioning properly.
2. This test checks for an open in the TC3 CKT.
3. This test checks to see if junction connector 3 is faulty.
4. This test determines whether the fault is due to an open in the E3 CKT or an open in the TC1 and TC2 CKTs.
