P1498
DTC P1498: Voltage Problem in EGR Valve Lift Sensor Circuit1. Do the ECM/PCM Reset Procedure.
2. Start the engine.
Is DTC P1498 indicated?
YES-Go to step 3.
NO-Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time.
Check for poor connections or loose wires at the EGR valve and the ECM/PCM.
3. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
4. Disconnect the EGR valve 6P connector.
5. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
6. Measure voltage between the EGR valve 6P connector terminals No.2 and No.3.
Is there approx. 5 V?
YES-Replace the EGR valve.
NO-Go to step 7.
7. Measure voltage between the ECM/PCM connector terminals C18 and C28.
Is there approx. 5 V?
YES-Repair open in the wire between the ERG valve and the ECM/PCM (C18).
NO-Substitute a known-good ECM/PCM and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original ECM/PCM.
