DTC P1169: A/F sensor (Sensor 1) LABEL Circuit High Input-'00-01 M/T models

1. Reset the ECM.
2. Start the engine, and let it idle.
3. Wait at least two minutes.

Is DTC P1169 indicated?

YES - Go to step 4.

NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose wires at the A/F sensor (Sensor 1) and at the ECM.

4. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
5. Disconnect the 8P connector from the A/F sensor (Sensor 1).
6. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).




7. Measure voltage between the A/F sensor (Sensor 1) 8P connector terminal No.4 and body ground.

Is there approx. 5 V?

YES - Go to step 8.

NO - Repair open in the wire between the ECM (D12) and the A/F sensor (Sensor 1).

8. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
9. Disconnect ECM connector C (31P).




10. Connect ECM connector terminal C18 to body ground with a jumper wire.




11. Check for continuity between the A/F sensor (Sensor 1) 8P connector terminal No.3 and body ground.

Is there continuity?

YES - Replace the A/F sensor (Sensor 1).

NO - Repair open in the wire between the ECM (C18) and the A/F sensor (Sensor 1).
