DTC P0182: Fuel Temperature Sensor Circuit Low Voltage*

NOTE: Information marked with an asterisk (*) applies to '04 model.

1. Reset the PCM.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

Is DTC P1182 (P0182)* indicated?

YES - Go to step 3.

NO - Intermittent failure. The system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the fuel temperature sensor and at the PCM.

3. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
4. Disconnect the fuel temperature sensor 2P connector.

5. Measure resistance between fuel temperature sensor 2P connector terminals No.1 and No.2.

Is the resistance OK (see the graph)?

YES - Go to step 6.

NO - Replace the fuel temperature sensor.

6. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
7. Disconnect PCM connector E (31P).

8. Check for continuity between fuel temperature sensor 2P connector terminal No.2 and body ground.

Is there continuity?

YES - Repair short in the wire between PCM (E17) and the fuel temperature sensor.

NO - Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM, then recheck.

If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good PCM, replace the original PCM.
