DTC B2998: A Problem in the A/C Compressor Driver

1. Check the No. 22 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box.

Is the fuse OK?

YES - Go to step 2.

NO - Replace the fuse, and recheck. If the fuse blows again, check for a short in the No. 22 (7.5 A) fuse circuit.

2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then turn to ON (II).
4. Do the self-diagnostic with the HDS.
5. Check for DTCs.

Is DTC B2998 indicated?

YES - Substitute a known-good A/C compressor driver, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original A/C compressor driver.

NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
