Radiator Cooling Fan: Service and Repair




Fan, Fan Motor, and Shroud Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Do the battery removal procedure. Removal and Replacement

2. Remove the battery base. Engine Removal

3. Remove the front grille cover. Adjustments

4. Remove the splash separator and the intake air duct. Intake Air Resonator Removal/Installation (J35Z2 Engine)

5. Raise the vehicle on the lift.

6. Remove the splash shield. Engine Removal

7. Disconnect the A/C condenser fan motor connector (A), then remove the harness clamp (B).

8. Loosen the A/C condenser fan shroud mounting bolts (C).






9. Disconnect the radiator fan motor connector (A).

10. Lower the vehicle on the lift.






11. Remove the coolant reservoir.






12. Remove the upper brackets (A).

13. Remove the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly (B), then remove the radiator fan shroud assembly (C).
NOTE: Pull-up the radiator, then move the radiator fan shroud assembly toward the right side of the vehicle to allow for enough space to lift it up and away from the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly.






14. Disassemble the fan shrouds.






Installation

1. Assemble the fan shrouds.






2. Install the radiator fan shroud assembly (A), then install the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly (B).

3. Install the upper brackets (C).






4. Install the coolant reservoir.

5. Raise the vehicle on the lift.






6. Connector the radiator fan motor connector (A).






7. Tighten the A/C condenser fan shroud mounting bolts (A).

8. Connect the A/C condenser fan motor connector (B), then install the harness clamp (C).

9. Install the splash shield. Engine Installation

10. Lower the vehicle on the lift.

11. Install the splash separator and the intake air duct. Intake Air Resonator Removal/Installation (J35Z2 Engine)

12. Install the front grille cover. Adjustments

13. Install the battery base. Engine Installation

14. Do the battery installation procedure. Removal and Replacement
