Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Replacement
Removal
NOTE:
- Removal of the front passenger's weight sensor must be done according to precautions and procedures Service and Repair.
- The front passenger's weight sensor are part of the seat track and must be replaced as an assembly.
1. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure, then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
2. Remove the front passenger's seat.
3. Disconnect the front passenger's weight sensor connectors (A) on the front passenger's seat wire harness, then detach the clip (B).
4. Remove the TORX bolts (C) using a TORX T40 bit, then remove the front passenger's weight sensor assembly (D).
5. Detach the clips(A).
6. Remove the nuts (B) and the bracket (C).
Installation
NOTE:
- Be sure to install the harness wires so they are not pinched or interfere with other parts.
- The front passenger's weight sensor are part of the seat track and must be replaced as an assembly.
1. Install the bracket (A), then tighten the nuts (B) to the specified torque.
2. Install the clips (C).
3. Install the front passenger's weight sensor assembly (A) with new mounting bolts (B) under the seat frame.
NOTE: Make sure both of the hooks (C) on the seat track are properly secured to the front bracket (D). If the hooks are not properly secured, the seat weight sensors will not perform properly.
4. Connect the front passenger's weight sensor connectors (E) on the front passenger's seat wire harness, then install the clip (F).
5. Reinstall the front passenger's seat.
6. Do the 12 volt battery terminal reconnection procedure.
7. Clear any DTCs with the HDS.
8. Do the front passenger's weight sensor initialization.
9. Confirm proper SRS operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
