Parking Brake Switch Signal Inspection

1.CHECK PARKING BRAKE WARNING LAMP
1. Start the engine.
2. Check the operation of the brake warning lamp by operating the parking brake.

Parking brake applied: On
Parking brake released: Off

OK or NG
OK - Parking brake switch signal circuit is OK. Return to Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
NG - GO TO 2.
2.CHECK COMBINATION METER INPUT SIGNAL
1. Check the voltage and waveform between combination meter harness connector and ground.





OK or NG
OK - Replace the combination meter.
NG - GO TO 3.
3.CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect combination meter connector and parking brake switch connector.
3. Check continuity between combination meter harness connector and parking brake switch harness connector.





4. Check continuity between combination meter harness connector and ground.





OK or NG
OK - GO TO 4.
NG - Repair harness connector or connector.
4.CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH CIRCUIT
1. Check the parking brake switch circuit. Parking Brake Switch Circuit.
OK or NG
OK - Replace the combination meter.
NG - Replace the parking brake switch. Component.
