DETENTION SWITCH


Diagnosis Procedure

1.CHECK DTC WITH "BCM"
Check "Self Diagnostic Result" for BCM using CONSULT-III.
Is the either DTC B2601, B2602, B2603, B2604 or B2605 detected?
YES - Check the DTC. Testing and Inspection.
NO - GO TO 2.
2.CHECK DETENTION SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect A/T shift selector harness connector.
3. Turn ignition switch ON.
4. Check voltage between A/T shift selector harness connector and ground.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 4.
NO - GO TO 3.
3.CHECK DETENTION SWITCH CIRCUIT 1
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect driver seat control unit.
3. Check continuity between driver seat control unit harness connector and A/T shift selector harness connector.





4. Check continuity between driver seat control unit harness connector and ground.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES - Replace driver seat control unit. Removal and Installation.
NO - Repair or replace harness.
4.CHECK DETENTION SWITCH
Component Inspection.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 5.
NO - Replace A/T shift selector. .
5.CHECK DETENTION SWITCH CIRCUIT 2
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect BCM connector and A/T shift selector connector.
3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and A/T shift selector harness connector.





4. Check continuity between driver seat control unit harness connector and ground.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES - Replace BCM. Exploded View.
NO - Repair or replace harness.
