Exhaust Manifold
This is a "Trustmark Authoring Standards (TAS) Repair Procedure"
- TAS style procedures can be identified by steps that have no accompanying step text and the magenta color of the electrical connectors and fasteners such as nuts, bolts, clamps or clips.
- TAS removal and installation procedures use a sequence of color illustrations to indicate the order to be followed when removing/disassembling or installing/assembling a component.
- Many of the TAS procedures will have the installation information within the removal steps.
- The TAS color illustrations use a variety of symbols to indicate important details of the procedures. It is important to understand these symbols in order to properly used the TAS procedures.

Removal
WARNING: Observe due care when working near a hot exhaust system.
WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
1 Raise and support the vehicle.
2 Remove the engine cover.

3 Remove the catalytic converters.

4 Remove the RH fender splash shield.

5 Disconnect the heated oxygen sensors (HO2S) electrical connectors.
WARNING: Do not twist the HO2S wiring harness on removal. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the component.
6 Remove the 2 HO2S.
Special Service Tool
Wrench, H02S, 310-121
7 Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield.
8 Remove the 2 exhaust manifolds.
9 Remove and discard the 2 gaskets.
Installation
1 Install new gaskets.
CAUTION: Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.
2 Evenly and progressively, tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.
Torque to: 24 Nm
3 Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.
Torque to: 10 Nm
CAUTION: Make sure the anti-seize compound does not contact the HO2S tip.
4 Install the HO2S.
Special Service Tool
Wrench, H02S, 310-121
Torque to: 45 Nm
5 Connect the HO2S electrical connectors.
6 Install the fender splash shield.

8 Install the engine cover.
