Instrument Panel Reinforcement
This is a "Trustmark Authoring Standards (TAS) Repair Procedure"
- TAS style procedures can be identified by steps that have no accompanying step text and the magenta color of the electrical connectors and fasteners such as nuts, bolts, clamps or clips.
- TAS removal and installation procedures use a sequence of color illustrations to indicate the order to be followed when removing/disassembling or installing/assembling a component.
- Many of the TAS procedures will have the installation information within the removal steps.
- The TAS color illustrations use a variety of symbols to indicate important details of the procedures. It is important to understand these symbols in order to properly used the TAS procedures.

Removal

WARNING: Persons working on the supplemental restraint system (SRS) must be fully trained and have been issued with the safety guidelines.

WARNING: Allow a period of 10 minutes to elapse after disconnecting the battery before undertaking any work on the SRS.

WARNING: The SRS electrical connectors are unique. DO NOT force, or attempt to connect electrical connectors to the wrong sockets.

WARNING: The correct procedures must always be used when working on SRS components.

WARNING: It is imperative that before any work is undertaken on the SRS system, the appropriate information is read thoroughly.

WARNING: Always disconnect both battery cables before beginning work on the SRS system. Disconnect the ground cable first. Never reverse connect the battery.

WARNING: Take extra care when handling SRS components.
1 Make the air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS) safe.

2 Disconnect the battery ground cable.

Installation
1 To install, reverse the removal procedure.
