Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Release When the Vehicle Has No Electrical Power

WARNING: Chock the wheels and make sure that all personnel are clear of the vehicle before carrying out the following procedure.

CAUTION: LH illustration shown, RH is similar.

NOTE:
To be carried out in the event that the vehicle has no electrical power.

NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
1 Disconnect the battery ground cable.

WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
2 Raise and support the vehicle.
For additional information, refer to Wheel and Tire Service and Repair









CAUTION: Discard the bolt.

NOTE:
Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

Torque to: 11 Nm





CAUTION: A new O-ring seal is to be installed.
1 To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2 Repeat the above procedure for the other side.
3 Calibrate the electric parking brake (EPB) using the diagnostic tool.
