P1570
DTC P1570 LASER RADAR SENSOR MALFUNCTIONCIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Detection Item:
The laser radar sensor emits laser beams towards the front object and measures the distance and direction of the object by receiving the beam reflections. Based on the reflections, the sensor calculates the relative speed. This data is transmitted to the cruise control ECU (distance control ECU).
HINT: The laser radar sensor monitors the laser emission and reception by itself. When it cannot monitor, this DTC is detected.
When rain drops or snowflakes strike the windshield, the distance between the front vehicle and your own vehicle cannot be measured correctly.
The dynamic laser cruise control system functions by detecting the reflector of the vehicle directly in front.
In the following cases, the system may not be able to detect the front vehicle and may not properly maintain the correct vehicle-to-vehicle distance.
- The front vehicle is a tall trailer.
- The back of the front vehicle is extremely dirty.
- The exhaust from the front vehicle or from other lanes is heavy.
- The front vehicle has no reflector.
- The laser radar sensor is facing bright light (sunlight etc.).
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
REPLACE LASER RADAR SENSOR
