DTC P0AEF-275 Open or Short to GND in Motor Inverter Temperature Sensor ConnectionDTC P0AF0-274Short to B+ in Motor Inverter Temperature Sensor Connection
DESCRIPTION
DTC Detection Condition:
The MG ECU located in the w/ converter inverter assembly detects the temperature of the front motor inverter using the temperature sensor built into the w/ converter inverter assembly. The inverter cooling system is the same as that for the Motor or Generator, and operates independently of the engine cooling system. The characteristics of the front motor inverter temperature sensor are the same as that of the boost converter temperature sensor. The MG ECU limits the load based on signals sent from the front motor inverter temperature sensor in order to check the effect of the inverter cooling system and prevent over heat. The MG ECU also detects a malfunction in the front motor inverter temperature sensor connection and in the sensor.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
CAUTION:
- Before inspecting the high-voltage system, take safety precautions to prevent electrical shocks, such as wearing insulated gloves and removing the service plug grip. After removing the service plug grip, put it in your pocket to prevent other technicians from reconnecting it while you are working on the high-voltage system.
- After disconnecting the service plug grip, wait for at least 5 minutes before touching any of the high-voltage connectors or terminals.
HINT: At least 5 minutes is required to discharge the high-voltage capacitor inside the w/ converter inverter assembly.
