Wiper and Washer Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

1. FRONT WIPER SWITCH
This circuit detects the state of the wiper switch and sends it to the Windshield Wiper ECU.
2. REAR WIPER SWITCH
This circuit detects the state of the wiper and the washer switch and send it to the Multiplex Network Body ECU No. 2.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT: Start the inspection from step 1 in the case of using the intelligent tester, and start from step 2 in the case of not using the intelligent tester.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Using the Techstream, read the Data List.






OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY





(a) Continuity Check
(1) Check the continuity of each terminal of the windshield wiper switch.
Front Wiper Switch (with Rain Sensor):






Rear Wiper Switch:






NG -- REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
(a) Check for open and short circuit in the harness and the connector between the windshield wiper switch and body ground.
(b) Check for open and short circuit in the harness and the connector between the windshield wiper switch and body ground.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
