DTC B2411 - Headlight Swivel Motor RH Communication Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

These DTCs are stored when the AFS ECU detects errors in its own communications with the headlight (headlight swivel motor).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT:
Perform a visual check of the headlight (swivel motor) before replacing it.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC B2410 or B2411 output does not occur.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the E91 ECU connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - HEADLIGHT)

(a) Disconnect the E91 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the A40 and A46 light connectors.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
for LH

for RH

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HEADLIGHT SWIVEL MOTOR (OPERATION)
(a) Temporarily replace the headlight with a new or normally functioning one.
(b) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC B2410 or B2411 output does not occur.
NG -- REPLACE AFS ECU
OK -- END (HEADLIGHT IS DEFECTIVE)
