DTC C1541 - Vehicle Speed Signal Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
The power steering ECU assembly receives vehicle speed signals from the skid control ECU via CAN communication. The ECU provides appropriate assisting force in accordance with the vehicle speed, based on the signals.
If the ECU detects this DTC, it adjusts the amount of power assistance for a speed of 100 km/h (62 mph) and continues the system control.

1. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT
(a) Check if DTC U0073 or U0121 is output Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
Result:
HINT:
- DTC U0073 indicates a CAN communication malfunction in the electronic power steering system.
- DTC U0121 indicates a VSC ECU communication malfunction in the electronic power steering system.
B -- REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT CODE
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (ECB SYSTEM)
(a) Check for DTCs of the ECB system Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
Result:
HINT: These DTCs indicate a speed sensor signal malfunction in the ECB system.
NOTE: If replacing the power steering ECU assembly, initialize the rotation angle sensor value and calibrate the torque sensor zero point Programming and Relearning.
