DTC C1581 - Assist Map Number Un-Writing

DESCRIPTION

The power steering ECU assembly outputs this DTC when it determines that assist map is not written in the ECU.
HINT: The assist map is data written in the power steering ECU assembly to control the degree of assistance. The assist map is selected based on the vehicle's specified communication data (designation and grade package information).





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ASSIST MAP WRITING
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch on.
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Set the Techstream to Test Mode. Enter the following menus: Chassis / EMPS / Utility / Signal Check.
HINT: Refer to the Techstream operator's manual for further details.
(e) Wait for 30 seconds or more.
HINT: Assist map is automatically written when approximately 30 seconds have elapsed after setting the Techstream to Test Mode. DTC C1581 will be cleared after the assist map is written.
(f) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC C1581 is not output.
OK -- RETURN TO NORMAL
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
(a) Check for DTCs of the CAN communication system Diagnosis System.
OK:
DTCs are not output.
NG -- REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT CODE
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
(a) Check for DTCs of the multiplex communication system Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTCs are not output.
NG -- REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT CODE
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
(a) Check if a qualified HV control ECU is installed.
OK:
A qualified HV control ECU is installed.
NG -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK NETWORK GATEWAY ECU
(a) Check if a qualified network gateway ECU is installed.
OK:
A qualified network gateway ECU is installed.
NOTE: If replacing the power steering ECU assembly, initialize the rotation angle sensor value and calibrate the torque sensor zero point Programming and Relearning.

NG -- REPLACE NETWORK GATEWAY ECU
OK -- REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY
