DTC P3187-751 - Short to GND in Rear Guard Sensor 1 Connection

DTC P3188-752 - Open or Short to B+ in Rear Guard Sensor 1 Connection

DESCRIPTION
- The HV control ECU monitors the connection status of the circuit breaker sensor RR RH signal (collision signal) line. If the ECU detects a malfunction, it will alert the driver.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU (VOLTAGE CHECK)
(a) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:






NG -- INSPECT REAR CIRCUIT BREAKER SENSOR RH
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CLEAR DTC (HV)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(c) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(d) Clear DTCs and freeze frame data.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
3. RECONFIRM OUTPUT DTCS (HV)
(a) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(b) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(c) Read output DTCs. Hybrid Control System

Result:
P3187-751 and P3188-752 are output.
NO -- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
YES -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
4. INSPECT REAR CIRCUIT BREAKER SENSOR RH
(a) Disconnect the C22 rear circuit breaker sensor RH connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:






NG -- REPLACE REAR CIRCUIT BREAKER SENSOR RH
OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
