DTC B1279 - Rain Sensor Communication Stop

DESCRIPTION
- This DTC is output when communication stops between the rain sensor and body ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMMUNICATION LINE)




(a) Disconnect the R13 rain sensor W4 ECU connectors.
(b) Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE)




(a) Disconnect the R13 rain sensor connector.
(b) Check the voltage between the wire harness side connector and body ground.
Standard voltage:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GROUND)




(a) Disconnect the R13 rain sensor connector.
(b) Check the resistance between the wire harness side connector and body ground.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE RAIN SENSOR
