DTC B2602 - Key Unlock Warning Switch Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The different signal (ON or OFF) is sent from the body ECU to the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU via the communication bus when the ignition key is inserted into the key cylinder. The multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU uses this signal to operate the auto away function or the auto return function.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect Techstream to DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON and push Techstream main switch ON.
(c) Select the item "Key Switch/MPX" in the Data List.
(d) Check the signal communication state of the un-lock warning switch on the tester screen.
Standard:
"ON" is displayed.
OK -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT UN-LOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY




(a) Disconnect un-lock warning switch assembly connector.
(b) Check continuity between terminal UN- and UN+ of the un-lock warning switch assembly shown below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE UN-LOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BODY ECU - BODY GROUND)
(a) Check for open and short circuit in the harness and the connector between the body ECU and the body ground Electronic Circuit Inspection Procedure.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE BODY ECU
