BRAKE CONTROL: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: C1268/68: Transfer "L4" Position Switch Circuit


DESCRIPTION

After confirming that the transfer is in the L4 position, A-TRAC and downhill assist control will be activated according to the vehicle conditions Description and Operation.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE:
When replacing the master cylinder solenoid, perform zero point calibration Calibration.

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU (EXI4 TERMINAL)




(a) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:






NG -- INSPECT TRANSFER INDICATOR SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM TEST MODE (SIGNAL CHECK)
(a) Reconnect the skid control ECU connector.
(b) Check if the test mode (signal check) DTC is detected.
Result:






C -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
B -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (L4 CIRCUIT)
A -- Continue to next step.
3. RECONFIRM DTC
(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Check if the same DTC is detected Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
HINT: Reinstall the sensors, connectors, etc. and restore the previous vehicle conditions before rechecking for DTCs.

4. INSPECT TRANSFER INDICATOR SWITCH




(a) Disconnect the transfer indicator (L4) switch connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE TRANSFER INDICATOR SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - TRANSFER INDICATOR SWITCH)




(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (EXI4 CIRCUIT)
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSFER INDICATOR SWITCH - ECM)




(a) Disconnect the ECM connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
