B2251 - Back Door Closer Switch Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The power back door unit (power back door ECU) inputs signals from the latch switch, closer position switch and back door courtesy switch, which are built into the back door lock. Based on these switch signals, the latch position of the back door lock is determined.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LATCH SWITCH AND BACK DOOR COURTESY SWITCH)

(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of each switch.

Back Door





OK:

The display is as specified in the normal condition.

NG -- INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (LATCH SWITCH AND BACK DOOR COURTESY SWITCH)

OK -- REPLACE POWER BACK DOOR UNIT ASSEMBLY Removal

2. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (LATCH SWITCH AND BACK DOOR COURTESY SWITCH)

(a) Remove the back door lock Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Latch Switch





Back Door Courtesy Switch:





NG -- REPLACE BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LOCK - UNIT AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the S19 door lock connector.

(b) Disconnect the L36 unit connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE POWER BACK DOOR UNIT ASSEMBLY Removal
